Well, folks, we've been in touch with St. Paul back and forth all day both by telephone and telegram, and while it's been a bit sketchy at times we have received somewhat reasonable confirmation from a typically trustworthy source that we can confirm the following with just a little hesitation -

Austin Anderly (36-4) defeated Cordell Peterson of NRHEG (27-18) by a 15-0 technical fall in the quarterfinals of 106lbs at the Minnesota Class A State Individual wrestling tournament.

Anderly will tangle with Jared Clawiter (32-12) in tomorrow afternoon's semi-finals.

Chris Pfarr (37-3) demonstrated great strength in a 12-1 victory over Lee Whitcomb (32-6) if Atwater Grove City. Pfarr will wrestle unbeaten Garrett Hoffner (43-0) of Mahnhomen/Waubon in tomorrow's 152lb semifinal.

Delivery from the pigeon all the way from St. Paul tells us this ...

Austin Anderly (40-0) scored an early takedown and didn't relent scoring an easy 14-3 victory in the state semi-finals this morning over Jared Clawiter of Kenyon Wanamingo.

Anderly will compete for the Class A Championship at 106 pounds sometime about 7:30 this evening at St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center. He will encounter Seth Elwood, a sophomore from Medford with a 39-2 mark.

Chris Pfarr was in quite a tussle with unbeaten Garrett Hoffner (Mahomen/Waubon). The wrestlers were even at 2 when Pfarr's attempt to turn Hoffner to his back resulted in Pfarr on his back, and HOffner earned victory by fall at 4:59.

Pfarr defeated Luke Norland (JCC) 7-0 in the wrestlebacks and will compete for third place here against Brady Bos of Pipestone.

The Henderson Adult Recreation Community Wrestling Club extends a big congrats to its future club members. This update possible in part on behalf of the HARCWC and a Adidas Wrestling shoes ... "when you've got some butt to kick, you want to lead with the toe of an Adidas wrestling shoe."

Well, the snowstorm made the travel by Pony pretty difficult, but word just in that Austin Anderly did indeed claim the 106lb state championship with an 8-2 victory over Seth Elwood of Medford, Minnesota.

Chris Pfarr recovered from his heartbreaking semi-final defeat to score a 7-0 victory of top-ranked Nordland from JCC, and a 12-2 domination of Bryce Bos in the third-place match.

This update made possible by contributions from the Henderson Adult Community Recreation Wrestling Club, promoting good times both and off the mat. The HARCWC also endorses Nike training shorts ... "If the very thought of training makes you sick, get sick in a comfortable pair of Nike training shorts, with the flex wasteband to minimize pressure on even the upsettest of stomachs."
