Legends after state "B" title

Legends after state "B" title - 08/23/13 07:12 PM

Doesn't get any bigger than this, your last chance to see the Old Man Over-35 baseball team LeSueur-Henderson Legends complete their pursuit of Glory. While the team limped to a 5-10 finish in the increasingly difficult arena of over-35 old man baseball, the team has refocused its energy and is hustling harder than ever and really paying close attention to every pitch now that it's state tournament time.

Despite being seeded 20th of 28 teams, and being stuck in the bracket with the league's 12 worst teams, the Legends are taking nothing for granted, disposing of Edina and Nisswa by a combined 19-2 last week, treating them as you should treat teams with a combined two wins between them.

Come watch as Tony "Skeddy" Nagel fights through a shoulder injury that prevented him from holding a full gallon of milk straight out before him for a week, yet he still thwacked four hits in two games last weekend. And see if Todd Kessler can make a return from a dehabilitating groin injury.

Bloomington is likely the first victim, as the Legends will try to avenge an 8-4 June defeat that features a total of nine Legends players. First pitch is at 1 p.m. Saturday in Shakopee.

Is this the same Kessler that almost lost his manhood?

Just had a very brief word with the Kessler fella last night. Seems there is still a bit of a falsetto to his voice. Poor guy. Hope his Dirty Backroads singing voice returns soon.

Legends win! Legends win! It was an 11-3 thrashing of the Bloomington Eagles. LSH plays for the Class B title Sunday in Prior Lake at 3pm vs. the winner of New Hope and Northfield. Gotta say it. Were the best 8-10 team in the state!
