The Henderson Adult Community Recreation Wrestling Club would like to express is best wish of LUCK to future member Austin Anderly.

Anderly, a two-time defending Minnesota State Champion, improved to 39-1 on the season with an opening round win at 126lbs in the state wrestling tournament this morning. He will wrestle in the quarterfinals this afternoon.

Anderly is currently ranked #2 in the state after being ranked #1 for much of the season. The reason for the bump is that three time state champion Cameron Sykora from Border West moved UP a weight class for the post season. Sykora hasn't lost since his freshman year (he lost one match that year en route to a state title), and some of the state's "mat heads" would argue that pound for pound he's the best wrestler in the state. The two are on a collision course for the finals. In his last 17 matches at the state tournament, Sykora has won 12 of them by major decision, technical fall or pin. "Probably the best wrestler in the state," said one insider from his seat inside the XCEL Energy Center.

Rumors are that Austin, son of former Henderson stand out Peter Anderly, feels little pressure in pursuit of a third title, having already secured two, and is anxious for the potential challenge of a bout with Sykora.

Still a lot of wrestling to go before this match takes place however.

The HACRWC is a non-profit organization that allows "athletes" to share their love of both folk and free style wrestling in a friendly, competitive atmosphere. The Club is fresh off its fourth season, having finished second in the River Valley City league behind Medford. Henderson finished with a 6-2 dual meet record, both losses coming to Medford. The HACRWC welcomes anyone, experienced or inexperienced, that just wants to get some mat time. Participation fee of $25 covers the purchase of a team-issued singlet and league dues. Wrestlers are encouraged to provide their own headgear. No jeans or other clothing with zippers, snaps or buttons are permitted at practice. Practices are held every two or three weeks, depending on interest, in the basement of the Library.

Edited to add: The HACRWC also welcomes female athletes. All above rules apply with the exception of the participation fee. A $30 bill for ladies will get you a team-issued singlet along with an HACRWC engraved banana clip. The female division meets the second Thursday of every month in Charlie's basement. Please, no piercings.

Good luck Austin! Plan the work and work the plan!

Camel, I left half of a sleeve of Garlic and Herb Ritz crackers in the Library basement last time...if you're heading down there to clean mats, look for 'em for me.

Trips to "the library," missing socks...at last it all makes sense.

Didnt find Kermit's socks but I did find billy wag's cowboy boots.

Also, sykora is a four time state champion, not three time as previously stated.

"Breathe it, drink it, eat it. I love the competition," Anderly was quoted as saying in the Star Tribune today about a potential matchup with Sykora.
