Chuck and Marie Retka enjoyed Friday night dinner at the Henderson Roadhaus.

Catholic Schools week was observed last week. Some of our St. Thomas youngsters attend Our Lady of the Prairie in Belle Plaine, St. Wenceslaus in New Prague, Holy Redeemer in Montgomery. At St. Ann’s in Le Sueur we enjoyed a tour of the school and a nice pancake breakfast on Sunday.

Three Parties, two were Super Bowl parties Kenny and Debbie O’Connell hosted their annual Neighborhood Super Bowl Party on Sunday. Another gathering was at the Tim Marsolis home who hosted a Superbowl party for Bruce and Cathy’s Halloran family.

Mary Jean Halloran hosted a cozy midwinter gathering on Sunday with a helping hand from daughter Margaret. Among the guests were a few Halloran family members, John “Tar”,  Gert, Tim and Sue, Terrance and Dawn. The family gathers often to consult about Tar’s care, this time they made it a party.

Congratulations to John Meyer who was recently named as “Firefighter of the Year”, at the Savage
Fire Department.  John is the son of Greg and Pam Meyer of Le Sueur, and the grandson of the late Ardo and Bernice of St. Thomas.  John started his public safety career in 2004 as a volunteer with the Le Sueur Ambulance. He is presently a paramedic with the Allina Health Emergency Medical Service.

The Nathan and Kara Olson family have great news. They are preparing for the pitter- patter of a little baby boys feet the first week in June.  Eliza is 7, and Anja, 4. Lets pray for a happy, healthy baby with as much of-the-Dickens in him as his father has.

Have a good week, folks.
