2020 October 26 St. Thomas News

We had Mass here at St. Thomas with Father Roger Hessian officiating to about 60 present on Saturday. Mass was for Ed Halloran. Jim Walker read the Liturgy, Gifts were taken up by Gary and Shirley Rutt. T. C. and Kevin Halloran. Mary Schwartz accompanied the choir with the organ. It was great, the choir sang a lot of the older songs we learned 60 years ago...or if you’re younger, the songs from “Sister Act”.

St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Le Sueur will have masses with Father Chris Shofner: Saturdays at 5:15 p. m. and Sundays at 8 a. m. and 10:30 a. m.. Check the website for more instructions

Prayers for comfort and good thoughts for Iris Sullivan, we all remember Iris ,and Judy Glisczinski, Mary Jean”s sister. Jim Mollenhauer, son of the late Al and Marge of Le Sueur. Jim was hurt in a car accident last week. There was one fatality. It wasn’t Jim.

Vera Mary was born this October 25, 2020 at the Mother/Baby Center at Abbott in Minneapolis 6 a. m.. weighing 6 pounds, 1 ounce, to Noah and Sara Rassmussen. She joins Lyndon David (7 years) and Nora Jean (17 months) at their Farmington home and little Vera is the 11th grandchild for Barney and Jean Burns who live across the lake from the St. Thomas Church.

We enjoyed a shorter version of our family hayride on Saturday. Next year, we intend to plan a bit earlier, too much snow on the ground this year, to cold with many coats and blankets, stocking caps, and masks. Can’t tell who’s who in the pictures. Following the ride, we watched a 4-hour home video, daughter Jodi found in a suitcase of old family videos, This one... a wedding dance from August 26th, 1996. Sadly, many folks are not with us anymore, many of the children were surprised at how dark Grandpa’s hair was and did Grandpa sing The Black Crow “way back then”? The loudest laughter came when our five tween and teenage grandchildren watched their parents “cut loose” on the dance floor - 24 years ago!

Stay healthy and God bless.
