Henderson, MN Forums General Henderson General Discussion High Water Coming?

It's that time of year again when Hendersonsites watch for the possibility of high water coming from upriver.

It sure looks like we could have a situation soon, as the MN River is expected to crest late next week.

Be aware!

733.9 for next week Friday and according to info on NOAA - flood gates go in at 734. Lots of black showing in the fields west for 20 miles - so looks like most of the snow has melted so we will see how close they are with the prediction. If we get a big rainfall that wouldn't be good. Not sure I'm buying it but I'm no hydrologist nor have I stayed at a Holiday Inn lately. But I have shot a BB gun!

Be aware - how about be alert? Spellman had a shirt once - "Be a Lert, the world needs more Lerts!" I always loved that one. If I had a t-shirt shack I would make up shirts like that and sell them.

River going up and prediction was to drop a little - very interesting. I know the drainage ditches are starting to ramp up. If the prediction for today is opposite of reality, does that mean more water coming through now and less later (prediction too high)? Yesterday's prediction at 733.9 and today it shows 734. Stay tuned.............
