June 1, 2016
1 to 3 pm
Location: Ney Nature Center (28238 Nature Center Lane Henderson, MN 56044)
Lichens are an important, if often overlooked part of the Minnesota landscape. More than pops of color on the landscape, they have unique adaptations to challenging environments that make them one of the toughest organisms around (they can even survive in space). Join guest speaker Daniel Stanton and naturalists at the Ney Nature Center as we talk about the fascinating biology and natural history of lichens and take a hike to find locally common species.
This workshop counts toward advanced training hours for those enrolled in Master Naturalist.
