Mass of Christian Burial for Joe Connolly was held on July 6 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center, Father James Stiles officiated. Joe was laid to rest with Military honors, in St. Henry near his son, Tim. Our sympathies to his wife Carol, daughter Megan and Megan’s husband, Joe and their family, siblings Jean Connolly, Bill and Shelly Genelin and their family, Mary Lynn and Larry Sycks, and Joe’s sister Dee Wolf’s family. From St. Thomas, fellow Hibernian member Dick O’Connell, Color and Honor Guard Kenny O’Connell and Greg Meyer and member of the Sheriff's posse Ryan Halloran. Sheriff’s posse carried Joe’s ashes from the farm to the St. Henry Church Cemetery where he was laid to rest. There are many Joe Connolly stories to be told, and most are believable.
Megan Middelstadt and Kyle Becker were married in a beautiful and meaningful wedding ceremony officiated by Father Andrew Ricci at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Superior Wisconsin on the 5th of July. Dinner, Reception and Dance were at the Greysolon Ballroom in Duluth. The bride who attended St. Scholastica’s College in Duluth, is the daughter of Ted and Maureen Hoehn Middelstadt of Blue Earth, and three generations from St. Thomas on the Burns Branch of our St. Thomas Tree. The brides mother, Maureen, is one of 12 siblings, children of Cletus and Alice Burns Hoehn and grandchildren of Tim and Alice Halloran Burns. We wish Kyle and Megan a long and happy married life together.
The Holden family gathered for the wedding ceremony of Michael Holden and Janiel Liebl in Watson, Minnesota on July 3. The newlyweds are making their home on Tom and Max’s Holden’s family farm, The home place where Michael’s mother, Kim Goetzinger and her siblings grew up, just east of St. Thomas. We also wish them happiness and a long married life together. Janiel, welcome to St. Thomas... Michael, welcome back!
