Father Roger Hessian offered Mass, assisted by server Marvin Halloran at St. Thomas, this 10th of August for Jerry Retka, Edward Halloran and for the children of all the mass shootings recently. Jim Oak read the Liturgy, the gifts were presented by Andy and James Oak, Kevin and Beth Halloran. Assisting Father as Eucharistic Ministers were Joanne Sullivan and T. C..
A few visitors attended Mass along with our congregation were Gene and Sharon Retka from Courtland, Mary Jean’s sister, Judy Glizcsinski, Jeanette Nash and their grandchildren Carter, Jackson and Tayler. Katherine Retka was at Mass with her daughters Julie, Audrey, Amy, and her. granddaughter.
Twenty members of the John and Kathleen Fogarty family were present to help host the Tim and Alice Burns family reunion at the Ney Center near Henderson on Sunday, Aug 11th. Mary, Noreen, Kathy, Mark, Rita, Lisa, Bob, Ed, and Emmett were present. John Edward lives in Panama, Tim is recuperating from shoulder surgery and Andy passed away in August 21, 2006 at the age of 37.
Prayers for Michael, son of Bruce and Mary Fogarty Phillips, is in need of a kidney.
David O’Connell was spotted having breakfast at Ettlin’s on Friday morning with Liam and Catherine.
Joanne Sullivan’s daughter, Anne, is here for a visit from Japan.
Le Sueur’s “Class of 51” gathered at the Roadhaus in Henderson on Monday, the 12th. From a class of 63, 13 original class members attended the reunion; Joan Shattuck Reinhardt, Colleen Casey Deis, Darlene Holtz Hale, Fran Byrne Tiegs, Jean Heinson, Virginia Guertin Brandt, Dale Sunderman, C. J. Andresen, Bill Hix, Ray Pioske, Jim Bratsch, Jim Van Gaul and Elwood Bauleke. They enjoyed the gathering and plan on getting together more often. Some familiar folks from St. Thomas in this class would be Patsy Retka, Bob Tiegs, Bob Connelly, Jim O’Neill, Gordon Cemenski are deceased... and then there’s that character whose nickname is “Shady” lives in Lake Havasu couldn’t make it this year..
