Future Masses here at St. Thomas with Father Hessian will be on Saturdays at 5 pm, September 21, October 12, and November 2.
Masses at St. Anne’s in Le Sueur are Saturdays at 5:15 p. m., and Sundays 8 and 10:30 a. m.
After Tom’s Tidbits on KCHK Thursday, folks were ready to celebrate and have a wonderful time at Maynards 30th Anniversary Party with The Bar and Grill owned by Dale “Maynard” and Colleen Burns Rohloff of Le Sueur. Church of Cash entertained. From St. Thomas: Doc, Dick, Debbie and Kenny O., and Jim Connelly, were among the many guests. Boyd Hubbert, from Channel 11 News, was visiting family in the area and attended the party, Tom Graham of KCHK radio, Maynard’s brother, Dennis and Jill Rohloff... The infamous “Killer” Steve Miller of Montgomery took our picture and sent it to his cousin, Father Mike! What a blast! Lots of laughing, dancing, good food and... libations.
The Tuck family enjoyed kayaking on the Minnesota River between Ottawa and Le Sueur on Sunday.
Twenty Burns Cousins gathered for breakfast at the Roadhaus on Thursday, August 29th. Following the meal, they toured the former Mary Grace O’Brien farmhome on the Le Sueur side of St. Thomas, hosted by Mary Grace’s daughters, Annette, Arlene, and Mary Frances.
Sherri Hale Davis, daughter of the late Althea Holtz Hale and Dayton Hale, is formerly from the St. Thomas area, attended school and rode the school bus with us until she was 12. In 1958, she moved to live with her mother in Mankato. Sherri and her husband were here for a visit and stayed at the Village Co-op with her Aunt Darlene Hale. They enjoyed the State Fair on Tuesday. A number of Hale family members, including Darlene, Justin and Michell O’Connell Hale had a final meal on Friday at the Bar and Grill, before the Davises returned to Mesa Arizona on Saturday. Sherri is a married mother of two adult children, Chad in Arizona and Shani in Nevada, a grandmother of 5, and this writers’ best friend through grade school.
The St. Thomas Sportsman’s members and their families gathered at the Park for the annual Labor Day Potluck Picnic.
Excitement in a wooded area north of St. Thomas., the corners of 19 and the Judicial Road, aka, Murphy’s Corner, close to where Father Hessian lives...A bear was spotted.
