With roads into Henderson being closed for over three months due to flooding in 2019, revenues dropped dramatically at Wagars Grocery Store. A planned 2020 restroom remodeling project was recently postponed indefinitely because funds set aside for this project were stolen in a recent store break-in.
Barb Conrad, owner of Wagars, has always been a great supporter of the Henderson Classic Car Roll-In as well as many other projects in the Henderson area and the LSH school district.
The Henderson Classic Car Roll-In committee, along with the Henderson Roadhaus, feels now is the time to support Barb in her remodeling project and we ask community groups, organizations, and individuals to join us in assisting this vital Main Street business.
At the February 22 Henderson Classic Car Roll-In Winter polka dance and trivia contest, those attending will have the opportunity to make a donation with all proceeds going to assist Barb's project. The polka dance, featuring the One Man Band, Larry Novotny, will entertain from 2 - 4 PM followed by the popular Classic Car Trivia Contest which concludes around 5:30 PM. There is no admission for these events at the Henderson Event Center and free door prizes will be awarded during the dance.
Beginning at 6 PM, the Henderson Roadhaus will host a beer bash for Barb with all proceeds going to the remodeling project. The beer bash is from 6 PM to 10 PM and is $10.
In good times and bad, Henderson area residents always seem to help one another in the face of adversity or bad luck. Barb has done so much for our community for many years. Please join us in showing her how much we appreciate her business and her community involvement.
