We had the nice soaking rain farmers really needed over the weekend.

A nice crew showed up Saturday morning for the annual Sportsman Park clean up.

Joseph Patrick Callahan, son of Patrick and Julie Callahan received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday May 17. Father Tom Niehaus, Blessed him with the Gift of the Holy Spirit in a private ceremony at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Shieldsville, MN...cluster Church with Most Holy Redeemer and St. Canice Catholic Church, other confirmands also were confirmed individually during the ceremony

Grace, daughter of Aaron and Deb Halloran, was also confirmed at St Patrick Church in Shieldsville on Sunday. Father Tom Niehaus celebrated the mass in the parking lot and the confirmants with their families ventured into church for their individual confirmations. Grace's brother Tim Marsolais was her sponsor and his wife Alex was also there for extra support.

On Saturday, a drive by baby shower was held for Tim and Alex Marsolais. They were lured out of their driveway and were surprised by a number of family and friends who passed by dropping off gifts and wishing them well.

Bob “Barney” and Jean Burns ... to be Grandparents again. Baby Rasmussen #3 due in November. Lyndon and Sarah are # 1 and # 2.

Two C-130 aircrafts from the 133rd Air Wing of the National Guard Air Force Reserve aerial salute flew over the crowded New Prague hospital parking-lot on Wednesday. A salute to an approximate 30 front-line Mayo health care workers standing on the roof of the hospital, and many more inside. Dick O’Connell and the Chlans, Alvin and Alice, and Tim and Sarah, were gathered with the many watching from the New Prague parking lot. It took about 23 minutes for them to get to Mankato and salute the Mankato healthcare workers at Immanual St. Joseph. We were on the cell phones with Katie and Maddie Landwer in Mankato, who were sitting in their driveway waiting for the planes to fly over.

Some of the stores are starting to slowly open up. The Memorial Day Picnic at the St. Thomas Sportsman’s Park for members has been canceled. Now we know this covid-19 pandemic stuff has interfered with our lives. Take care, stay safe, and God bless.
