2020 August 4 St. Thomas News

St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Le Sueur will have masses with Father Chris Shofner: Saturdays at 5:15 p. m. and Sundays at 8 a. m. and 10:30 a. m. Check the website for more instructions.

Myrtle Retka Hanzel passed away Friday August 31st. She will remembered as a grand and gifted lady who was extremely kind, beautiful and confident. Myrt grew up on the New Prague side of St. Thomas and she is already missed at our St. Thomas Ladies Luncheons by many ladies from the St. Thomas area. Our sympathies to Bob and the Hanzel family.

The Max and the late George Sullivan family gathered at the Sullivan farm to celebrated Max’s birthday on Saturday, the first of August. Her actual birthday is August 3.
Another highlight of the day was the resurrection of George’s M Farmall, Mickey’s “Pandemic” project.

Davie Connelly was out and about this week. Thursday evening he enjoyed a Union Hill burger, and Saturday night he had dinner with friends at EJ’s in Gaylord.

Sunday afternoon, we toured the Redeemer Lutheran German Settlement Cemetery on Highway #19. A nice day for an outdoor tour during this pandemic time, knew some folks interred there, interesting writings, like “vater” and “mudder” on stones.

Stay safe, folks, and God bless.
