Does anyone have any old footage of Henderson? I think it's important to archive any footage of Henderson (classic sports games, festivals, flood coverage, etc.)

I have tapes of the 1991 LSH Giants football season. First year as a merged district I might add. Also, I've got photos of the '97 flood from around town. Anything else I'll be sure to let ya know.

Sauerkraut Committee had a video for sale a couple years ago that was a reprint of an old 16mm film of the 1952 Kraut Days parade. It was converted to VHS by some local amateur, but it's still a great piece of history. Monroe Tiegs was holding onto that old film for all these years. there's also a video of the 65 flood. Before the levee.

There's gotta be some old footage of HHS and activities held there. Homecoming skits and parades-1983 girls state basketball footage-copies of plays/musicals. What about hitting up Rachel Sorensen or Nancy Miller? Maybe they got some of these?

The newspaper would also be a great source for little tidbits. Not actual footage, but pics and articles.

I did tap Nancy Miller for what she had. She had the 1991 homecoming coronation. My gut was smaller back then.

I recall that one of John Bigaouette's brothers might have taped almost all of the football games from the 1985-86 season....the last season Henderson had a football team. I'd love to have that on DVD since I played (some). I recall that there was footage of Todd Kahlow getting his bell rung and walking to the wrong huddle?
The girls basketball footage....I've got some VHS footage from my sister. I've been trying to play with.....I was told that the orignal tape was recoreded by Mr. Ehler's (Dave's dad I believe) and it was recored on a Beta machine and then dubbed onto VHS. The VHS copies are kind of grainy and the first 5-10 minutes is really bad but there is a couple of hours of footage.
If you want "Henderson Classics"....I've also got a 1987 school play and a B-squad basketball game from about 1984?
Go Johnnies!

Don't forget that part of Prince's "Purple Rain" was filmed just outside of Henderson.
I don't have any videos of Henderson but I have some cassette tapes of a 1980's school play, 1982 graduation ceremony (with Gov. Al Quie as speaker) and a very funny tape that was made on our '82 senior class trip.
(Skeddy, I almost hope there is no bus footage. You are painting a pretty scary picture!)
