Henderson was a hotbed for Town Team baseball in the 1920s, 30s and 40s. (The 20s just hearsay for me). Some of the surrounding towns did not field a team and players from Le Sueur and Arlington, in particular, played on the Henderson team. There were some truly talented players back then. Les Schwartz (from Arlington, I believe) was a marvelous centerfielder. Considering the gloves back then--skimpy and hard leather--his defensive skills were something to behold. In other major sports--notably football and basketball--players today are more skilled. Baseball? I'm not sure. The old timers would stack up well today. Any old Henderson baseball postcards around, Bryan?
