What are some early predictions for the upcoming boys basketball season?

Will Belle Plaine go to state again?

You are correct Velocity, as long as the T-pups don't bump them.

Helluva game last night at Hilltop. Intense! Giants beat Holy Family 78-69 after coming out and dominating to open the 2nd half. Who's this Jimbo Bell guy? Thought he was supposed to be so good. BWHAAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Hilltop is where all of the Varsity level BBall home games should be played, boys or girls...it puts the Le Sueur gym to shame.

It's not the old "Henderson vs. Le Sueur" argument at all...Le Sueur has 90% of the home games/events for other sports already, and for good reason, the facilities are better...

I say play the games in the best facility possible 100% of the time. Of course there would be a HUGE-STINK if that was to happen, but I'll shut up now ;-).

Good points.

I think they take turns between Girls and Boys. This year the boys practice and play games in Henderson.

From what I have heard/learned in the past couple of years the boys & the girls teams generally alternate years/sports between the gym in LeSueur & the gym up at Hilltop. To Keepin it Real some nights it is not feasible to have them both play in the same gym, sometimes they play on the same night. I know that both the girls & boys B-ball teams had home games on Dec.6th. The middle school B-ball teams had been left out of practice early that night in order for the gym to be open to accomadate the teams enough time to warm up. I guess the two communitys are fortunate to have the facilities that we have where they can afford to both have home games on the smae night and have a place for both of them to play without having to play on the audiotorium/gym at park.

Keepin' It Real, you my friend truly are real and pull no punches. You are about the facts, nothing more and nothing less.
However, when the h.s. renovation/addition is done, the gym is being replaced with a facility that my sources tell me will have kids from around the area transferring to play for Sir Bob Steiger.

It might be a a nice facility but I don't know if it will help LHS recruit at the same level as Hopkins.
The facilty linked below has 5 courts...and yes it is a high school.

Skeddy...you should stick around after work on Tuesday January 10 to check out the Royals @ the Hopkins Lindbergh Center vs. Henry Sibley and Trevor Trevor Mbakwe!

Are there any small winter sport schedules available anywhere? You know, the kind that fold up into a wallet type dealio. Noticed the Independent got a schedule in last weeks edition which is nice. Tough to know when games are unless you got a kid playing. Pretty sure I don't. At least not at LSH.

There should be some high scoring basketball games this year with 4 minutes added to the length of games...(2 18 minute halves I believe).

Holy guacamole! Giants are at Jordan this Friday night. Might have to make a pit stop after work and check it out. Could be in for an exciting year folks.

Okay calm down.
Just enjoy the seeeeaaaason.

How about a little defense from the team? Defense wins championships ya' know.
Hopefully after the game Friday you can all look at me and say, "What do you think of my defense now?!!"

Battlin' Bob is concerned about this week. They are 3-1, but have two tough games w/ Blue Earth (Tues. in LS) and New Prague (Thurs. in Henderson). Should be a good week.

BEA always seems to give LS-H fits. They aren't always the most talented team but they are extremely well coached and always give great effort.
If I recall they upset a #1 seeded Giants squad in the Section playoffs a few seasons ago.

As far as the New Prague game, it's a battle of two teams that don't like each other. Some might say this early in the season isn't a must win, but this is a must win for an up and coming LS-H squad. Whenever you get a chance to put the hurt on some Czechs, you gotta do it.

What's the word on tickets for the tilt this Saturday against Tracy-Milroy at Target Center?

Will walk-ups be available?

I'm looking forward to seeing a team dressed in blue play at Target Center and actually play some basketball worth watching!

What's the early scouting report on Tracy-Milroy?
I know the loss of the Battleton kids hurts them but what else?
Do they have anybody who can play with his back to the basket?

How did the boys do against Mayer Lutheran last night? Good luck at the house that KG built tomorrow too.

I've got a friend that played football for Slayton back in the late '80's. He swears that when they played Tracy-Milroy over half the team played the game with their mouth full of snuff.
Keep a heads up for spit juice on the parquet at Target Center!

Boys picked up another win at "The House that KG built" yesterday against the TMB Panthers. Beat them by about 15 or so. Someone's on a roll...

I read in the News-Herald that the McPartland kid is considering GAC or SJU. Any word on which way he's leaning? GAC has been solid the past 10-15 years but SJU is rebuilding.
